Round hiking trail "Klausenkapelle"
The round hiking path "Klausenkapelle" is an attractive
hiking trail near Riedenburg. Since it is very well signposted, you do not need a hiking
map. It has a complete length of about 6.5 km. Starting point of the hiking trail is the
guest house in Riedenburg. From there, the hiking path leads to the Schambach bridge
before the rising of a mountain starts on the right side. On the half of the rising, you
can enjoy a fantastic view over the Schambach valley. When you have reached the top of the
mountain, you can easily hike back downhill. If you follow the signposting, you will reach
the "Klausen" chapel. The signposted hiking path back to Riedenburg leads, among
others, past the castle Rosenburg.
Hiking path "Rosskopfsteig" near
Riedenburg-Deising in the nature park Altmuhl River valley in Bavaria
The romantic nature adventure path "Rosskopfsteig" starts
in Riedenburg-Deising (about 7 km from the
933-egge castle hotel Altmuhl River valley). Due to the good signposting, you do not
need a hiking map on this hiking path either. First, the hiking route leads up to the
"Kuhberg" hill, which counts to the five largest jurassic high plateaus of
Bavaria. Here, you do not only find rare animal and botanical species, but, if you are
lucky, you can also enjoy a beautiful and romantic scenery because flocks of sheep have
been grazing on the Kuhberg hill for generations. The Rosskopf Mountain is located on a
high plateau between Deising and Altmuhlmunster. Traces of a ditch remind of the castle
Fliehburg, which used to stand there a long time ago during the time of the Celts. The
jurassic cave at the Rosskopf Mountain is only accessible in the course of a guided hike.
The way back from the Rosskopf Mountain leads past Altmuhlmunster back to
Riedenburg-Deising.
Hiking through the Schambachtal valley between Altmannstein and
Riedenburg
Romantic hikes can be taken through the Schambachtal valley in the nature park. The
Schambachtal valley in the nature park Altmuhl River valley runs on a distance of about 16
km between Altmannstein and Riedenburg. A hike on the hiking trails of the Schambachtal
valley with its rich animal and plant world becomes an outstanding nature experience for
all who love nature.
